DEALING WITH COWORKERS WHO EAT MCDONALDS

tell em to PISS OFF. Seriously. So most of us spend much of our time at work. Mixed in with the NON MOST AWESOME CHALLENGE participants. And this is fine, when they support you. But we allll know human nature is to be negative nancys and people will tempt and tease and ask stupid questions. And many, many times before I have felt stupid with my turkey breast and brown rice while they are all eating freakin cake.

But no more. When faced with one of these cake eaters, I respectfully decline, over and over and OVER to thier offers. And kind of giggle to myself, thinking, are you SERIOUS cake eater? So just let thier stupidity pass, don't think into it and make yourself feel deprived. YES you are eating chicken and rice and veggies while they have sugar and fat and BLAH. But in about 30 minutes, you'll feel energetic, eager to get work done, and be satisfied with YOUR MEAL that provided you this. While they reach for more cake, unbutton thier pants on the ride home, and wake up in the morning groggy and with a honkin zit.

BAM. take that, cake-eating coworkers. so challengers, keep your goals in mind at all times! And you will always be motivated.

Week One Goals, Anyone?

"The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret to outward success."

-Henry Ward Beecher

Did anybody come up with a goal for week one?

Well IIIIII didddd!

My goal for this week is to straighten up my eating habits! I've been eating pure junk for the past 2 months. I ate more fast food in the past two months than I have in the past 2 years. Seriously. This has got to stop!

So this week, my main focus is on cleaning up my eating. I'm not expecting perfection, but I need to get myself back into the habit of eating clean wholesome foods.

Goal 2 for this week is getting back into the gym, DUH! Also something that hasn't been happening over the past 2 months. If you didn't see my facebook post yesterday, I walked into the gym in the morning and didn't even get past the front desk when a trainer from clear across the gym waved for me to come over and says "Where the hell have you been? I haven't seen you here in 2 months."

Total moment of shame for me, but I shook it off and said "I'M BACK!"

Oh, and I have a 3rd goal, and that is to become the MAYOR of Gold's Gym within 2 weeks. Yeah that's right. The M-effing MAYOR..... If you don't know what foursquare is, check it out.

POST and share your goals for the week!

The Race for Second Place Begins

Hello Everyone!

I would like to say I am really excited about this, I have needed something like this to get me motivated enough to get back in shape.  Finally I can stop making brownies and sleeping in and head to the gym and ease of the junk food.

Good Morning!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm about to head to the gym!!! RAWRRRR! Before I go I just wanted to remind everybody of a few good tips as we all get rolling on this challenge!

1. Set Weekly Goals!

While it may be able to say that you're going to take it one day at a time, the best thing to do is making sure each "day at a time" is geared toward something SPECIFIC! Set your intentions for the short term with a one week goal, and for the course of the challenge with an 8 week goal. This can be a weight loss goal, clothes size, eating habit change, anything about yourself that you would like to see improve over the next 8 weeks.

2. Document Everything

Once you set your goals, you'll need to make sure that you're keeping track of your progress! Maybe you purchase one of those workout and diet logs (GNC sells a really good one for $15) or maybe you create your own little folder to keep track. Take pictures, chart your weight and measurements, write down what you ate, what you did in the gym, etc. The only thing MORE important than GETTING IT DONE is KNOWING WHAT YOU DID!

3. I Think I Can, I Think I Can....

You know the saying. Tell it to yourself NOW so that when the day comes when you think to yourself  "this is hard, I can't do this" or "ugh I don't feel like going to the gym today" or "DAMN I REALLY WANT THAT PLATE OF CHEESE FRIES" you have a mantra to pull you through. The challenges that you'll face will all be mental so you need to get in correct mindset BEFORE you're whached with one of them!

4. Reach Out if You Need To!

This is a group effort y'all. We need to have each other's backs and be supportive, even if we all know that Jenn Turner is gonna win this. :) I encourage all of you to add each other on facebook! Someone's early morning post may be just what you need to get you going for the day!

Does anyone have anything to add to this? Leave some comments!

Ready For Tomorrow!!!!

I've decided to visit the stepmill tomorrow for cardio and figured I'd share my FAVORITE stepmill song. It's quite hardcore, but totally appropriate and I feel that it's ABSOLUTELY necessary to get me through those dragging minutes on the machine. I literally will sing this song to my legs as if I'm some sort of abusive lover. Give it a listen! It might get you going like it does me!
